I have Cisko Kid issue 1, and what impressed me most was the art of Dennis Calero. This guy seems to be a big talent.
To cut to the chase, would there ever be a chance of seeing him do a Phantom story? Him doing a Phantom book could possibly be a match made in heaven, and his darker style of drawing could fit well with a darker than usual Phantom story.

Man that sure would be cool, but the whole reason Dennis was unable to finish the art on Cisco #3 and the colors on Buckaroo #1 was because he is now the regular penciler on X-Factor for Marvel. We are super happy for him, but because of his schedule demands he will be unable to do anything further for us at this time. :sad02: But who knows what the future holds? For the time being, the answer is nope.
Moonstone Gal out for now...
Oh, didn't know he worked for Marvel now.
Such a shame. He would have been the perfect choice if you decided to make a black and white Phantom book.
Thanks for the answer!
His stuff is gorgeous. However, if you love that style, you'll probably really enjoy Carlos Magno's work.
Excellent *said in Mr. Burns' voice*
I keep thinking it had been cool to see a Moonstone Phantom comic in black and white one day. Y'know, a really dark, moody story. The character is after all printed in black and white in most parts of the world (in the papers), so it certainly suits him.

Frew publishes all there stories in black and white and it does give the character a good mysterious look. Then again the stories coming ou of Egmont aren't exactly what you could call dark. I actually much prefer the Moonstone Phantom's remain in colour as its nice to see him in colour instead of black and white. Just a nice little change. BUT it would nice to see a special black and white story with a darker then normal story.
