I'm a fan of crossovers in general. Sure, there's some I can't ever see working, but with the Phantom's history you've got hundreds of years worth of characters he could run in to.
Just recently, in a story from Egmont and later printed in a Frew issue, the 18th Phantom battles Sherlock Holmes old enemy, Dr Moriarty. It was alright, but not great. Come to think of it, he has run into a lot of charcters over the years.
James bond and Phantom, how about that?
I just caught up with this subject. My first comment is the Phantom is crossing over again briefly with Mandrake, so check the Mandrake dailies.
Also, the Phantom and the Creature of the Black Lagoon...very similar stories ran concurrently in the Sunday strip and in Egmont. For the Scandinavian stories they were Crocco monsters. I believe the Sunday story was called Waterman.
This would have been a cool crossover.
Oh that would've been sweet! Beautiful art as well.
A Phantom/ Mandrake story would be cool.
Especially if Moonstone then started up a Mandrake ongoing series.
Then you get Flash Gordon and Moonstone could do their own version of Defenders of the Earth!
( Minus the cute alien pet and all those kids, of course)
A Phantom/ Mandrake story would be cool.
There has actually been a Phantom/Mandrake crossover before. It ran as a Sunday Story in 2002 and was written and drawn by Fred Fredericks. It appeared in the 2002 Christmas Special from Frew [#1340]
There is one going on right now.
