And it was rubbish.

I have a better word then rubbish.:sly02:

My Mandrake/ Phantom idea was more that Moonstone would get the rights to Mandrake. Then we could see new Mandrake stories as well as a cool team up.

I was remembering Dark Horse's Tarzan series and how they did several stories where Tarzan met the Phantom of the Opera, Mister Hyde and Frankenstien.

Something like that would be cool for the Phantom as well and due to the whole legacy thing, there's more history to use.

Phantom vs Captain Blood!
Phantom on Kong Island would be cool too.

I think it would be great for Moonstone to license Mandrake, especially if they would get him out of that !@#$ tux and tails more often. He's been stuck in that same get up 24/7 for years now. Phil Davis didn't always draw him in it, and Fred Fredericks didn't have him in it 24/7 in the earlier years of his stint.

Oh man, you can't get rid of the top hat and tails, they are SOOO cool! It just wouldn't be Mandrake without that get up.
You've got to keep the tux and tails!

It's a classy look. Anybody can wear a cape and tights, but only a sophisticated, man of the world can fight evil in a tux.

He and the Phantom Stranger are the best dressed mystics out there. You shouldn't mess with that.
Here's another Phantom cross-over (sort of)... when legendary inker Joe Sinnott turned 80 recently, Phantom artist Paul Ryan made this drawing for him:

...featuring Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and the Phantom!
Cool picture.
though, now I want a Phantom/ FF story.

Moonstone should do a series like the old Marvel Team up or Brave and the Bold with the Phantom.
That is a very cool image!

I think I would rather stick myself with an ice pick than see the Phantom and the Thing in the same story, or universe for that matter. Sick

wink

Ryan is an extremely talented artist. For the Phantom strip, he's been one thing: Salvation. It hasn't looked so good since Sy Barry was on top form in the seventies. Also, the scripts have gotten far more interesting after he took over the ship.

A crossover between the Phantom and the Shadow could be incredibly good! Bangalla to New York and back again.

As an aside, has anyone here read the Batman/Tarzan crossover from about 5 years ago? The art by Igor Kordey is amazing.
