Wow, a spinner rack. I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid. I have this funny image in my head of you keeping comics in spinner racks in your house for personal storage instead of long boxes now.
That is correct. The only Phantom stories I'm reading are Falk stories. Once I feel completely comfortable with the character, then I'll grab those DC books out of my spinner rack and read away.
Boy, have you been missing out! I think they are among the best Phantom stories the world have seen so far. Nuff said, I guess.
I just re-read them over the last few days and boy are they great!
In reading Hate it sent chills down my back...

That would take up entirely too much space. Instead, I use the rack for books I haven't read yet (like the current Ultimate Spider-Man arc, the current Birds of Prey arc, recent issues of Conan and a few others) as well as books I've written and books I need as reference for things I am writing.

I gotta get me one of those for MY office!

Mike why are you saving the current USM arc??!?!? ITS THE BEST ARC IN THE HISTORY OF ARCS!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU READ IT!! Sorry if that was a bit scary but I had to get my point across! Wish I had a spinner rack!
When I first read them. I liked them alot. But when I picked them up (having bought the entire set off of Ebay) to read again last year,I wasn't too crazy about it.
Verheiden's Phantom was way too 'angry' almost like Batman--all the time. By the way for those of you who are interested Verheiden is writing Superman/Batman right now. And he was taking many of his stories or at leaslt refrencing the Phantom novels. I just didn't like it that much. I think I was far more impressed with Peter David's 4 issue run. That's the Phantom I could get behind . Who still could defeat villains, yet be kind and gentle when need be.
That spinner rack is the coolest thing I've seen all week!
Now, how do I convince my wife that it'd really brighten up the living room?
Oh, and to stay on subject, Mark's Phantom run was good, but I perfered Peter David's mini.
Anyone read the Phantom mini Marvel put out way back during that five minutes when they had the rights? It was pretty decent.

I reckon that's the coolest thing I've seen all YEAR [it's been a really slow year]. Where would you find one of those for sale anyways???
I read that Mini. I really enjoyed it! I mean, the guy had bullet proof armor on and a computer in his arm! IThat said, I wouldn't like to see more of these kind of things just because it didn't really feel like I was reading The Phantom, if there wasn't all those Jungle scenes with the Skull Cave and all that, I would've mistaken it for someone like The Punisher. If a future Phantom series was done right, I would enjoy it. EG: Egmont produced a future story entitled "The Phantom VS The Singh Brotherhood 2050" which was superb!
Mark just told me that he's too busy with Battlestar Galactica to work on other projects, but he is appreciative that fans still look kindly upon his work on the DC Phantom comics.
