"Walker’s Line” Part 2 of 2

In order to save the town of Clarksville from the Grinning Skulls gang, The Phantom must leave his Aunt unguarded in the local hospital. But once the gang’s leader puts the pieces together, will The Phantom be too late to stop him from pulling the plug on Aunt Sophie?

“If you're like me and always wondered why people thought a guy in a purple leotard running around the jungle was cool, check out this book and you'll understand why.” – Ain’t It Cool News

That cover looks quite gruesomeEh
Although I will admit this cover image does make me curious as to who is doing this to The Phantom, is all this blood being splattered all over the place necessary?
Oh no.

I am sorry, but my children are not getting this issue.

Pip
But your children will watch saturday morning cartoons with them blowing each other up???
I think the fans will like the message to this story.

Tough question, germie, but I will not buy them a comic book with this cover in order to prove your point. I draw the line at placing a copy of this stuff directly in my children's hands. But if they buy it with their pocket money, so be it.

Forgive me if I seem to state the obvious. If you have children yourself, then you probably understand.

Pippi:
I am in complete agreement that parents need to decide for themselves what is age appropriate for their children. Newspaper strips should for the most part be okay for all family audiences, but comics are different. There are comics  like Archie or Disney for very young children. Moonstone's Phantom is certainly more advanced. I'm not sure, but I would say some of the stories might fall between PG and PG13.  My youngest daughter just turned 14 and still watches Disney programming, but she also like CSI and Criminal minds which makes me cringe with the realiziation that my 'little girl' is growing into a young adult.
I would say Moonstone's stories would sometimes be best for mature young audiences, and I applaud you paying attention to what your kids read. Unfortunately, video games that younger kids play make anything Moonstone does very tame by comparison.
Pippi, good one you for being active in what your kids read. Too oftend I hear parents winge and moan about the stuff their kids are into becasue it's too violent, too much sex, etc. But do they do anyhting about it themselves? Of course not, they simply blame the publishers. Finaly, a parent who takes things into their own hands!

On the same token though (and correct me if I'm wrong) the Phantom is supposed to be a mature reader book (at least 13+) I'm not sure how old your kids are, but i think it's brilliant you let them read a book whos target audience may be older then they are, but keep in mind it is, inface, a mature book!

But, I really like the cover. thumbs up
I agree that you should 'censor' what your kids watch etc but can you judge just by the cover?
