Got the comic from the local comic shop yesterday.
Beautiful story line and good art work (compared to the previous issues).
Well, Mike Bullock really did a good job.
Hope he will continue with the same spirit.

Good-Excellent Front cover, story line and art work
Bad-only 22 pages of phantom comic. It should have been atleat 30. (Mike plaese not this).
Ugly-Really nothing !!!!!

Suggestions :- Please don't show phantom with too much muscle.

Thanks,
Vethalan.

22 pages is the standard for most American comics, so I don't think that's fair criticism (even though I agree with you that it is too little wink ).

Hi Walker,

I read the comic with thin 5 min (22 pages). That's why i mentioned about it.
Anyway thanks for your reply.Grin

Ah, yes. That's not a very long time. Maybe you should dwelve more on details and such, which always makes a reading experience longer. Grin

Anybody know about online reviews of this issue?

yeah, I was left wanting more when the issue was over, but that just shows Mr. Bullock was doing his job.

Execellently paced issue, Mike!  Cutting back and forth between the poachers and the mysterious gentleman in the bar kept the story moving for all 22 pages.  Great use of splash pages and double-page spreads, too.

bravo!

Thanks, Vethalan! Glad you liked it. The 22-page format, as Walker pointed out, is standard with monthly US comics. The average artist can do 1 page per day. When you start with a 30 day month and subtract the 8 days for weekends, you get 22 days - hence 22 pages.

Thanks, Len! If you like this issue, then you're going to love what's coming up. #20 is in the plotting stages and when I look back over the eight previous issues, it only gets better, in my humble opinion.

22 pages of story.
1 page of Ed's new column (good job to Ed, BTW)
1 special page I can't tell you about
1 page sporting some info on the Annual
7 pages of ads.

(Plus the cover, inside front cover, the inside back cover and the back cover.)

I believe the reduced number of pages was at least partially borught on so the issues could come out more frequently. That's something I fully support, although it felt like a luxury when the first issues of the comic series had around 30 pages of story Grin03

As I've said before, I think Moonstone's Phantom would benefit a lot from a reliable publishing schedule. I don't mind fill-in artists either (looking forward to EricJ in #16!) as it brings more variety and (hopefully) keeps the book out on a regular basis.

And no, haven't seen #12 yet. Might be a while before I get it but I hope it's worth waiting for.

Sounds great!

I'm new to PHANTOM, so I've little relationship to the characters (or even knowledge of them). However, I really enjoyed reading this story. And somewhere in the middle of it, it hit me: This is from the writer of Lions, TIGERS and Bears. A coincidence? I think not. wink

Great job, Mike and Gabriel. Looking forward to more!
