Hi to all the Bucakaroo fans! I talked to Joe about the misc. concerns I've seen on the message board about the various products we have coming out, so I asked him to comment. Here are his thoughts, and thanks to everyone for being patient in awaiting a response to these concerns. I did not want to speak out of turn, so I went right to the source, the co-publisher and editor-in-chief, Joe Gentile, he also is also in charge of all things Buck related here at Moonstone, so this is what he wanted me to share with all of you:
"First off, let me say from the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU to all of the Buckaroo Banzai fans out there! We really appreciate all of the support you have given us!
Now, onto specifics:
The TSHIRT was solicited for November release, and its still November. The tshirt is running very close to on time, which should elate BB fans, as opposed to upsetting anyone. I know WE'RE excited about it!
The poster...again, we have a very cool Banzai product, of
which there hasn't been anything new available in many many moons, and in the official solicitation, which goes to numerous news sources, at the very heading of the email and ad copy, states: "March '07 Moonstone release." The "Its here" is not meant to be misleading in anyway. We are announcing that the OFFERING of the first officially licensed Banzai poster is here. NOT that the actual product is here. This is a timed monthly email stating what we have going on 4-5 months from now. This is how this business works, and it is understood by all who have received the email. As you can tell by looking at the Moonstone Banzai page, we have not even announced the poster yet, let alone saying anything misleading! It is a GORGEOUS piece of art, done from love of the character, and we are VERY proud to have it to offer Banzai fans everywhere.
Buckaroo Banzai fans are some of the most loyal and gracious
fans anywhere, as we have seen from the outpouring of "thank you" emails we have received, the "thank you" handshakes we get at conventions, and the offers from these same fans to help spread the word about the comic. Because of these same fans, we have tried to "up the ante" by offering a couple of products that we have heard fans were hoping for. As to the comic itself, we have learned many things. As a publisher, we are always trying to do better. With the next mini series for Banzai, things will run smoother. We promise. Please stick with us, and realize that we are Banzai fans as well, and do not want to just pump out product. We are striving to put quality into what we do. So, let's try to see some light here, ok? Can we not celebrate the new Banzai stuff? Can we not get excited that Mac is writing more Banzai as we speak? Thank you to everyone out there who care so much about this characters."
Hope this helps everyone understand what is happening with the misc. projects, etc we have coming out for BB!
Moonstone gal out for now!
