Congratulations on your tenth anniversary!

That looks very nice. As of right now, we're in the middle of a complete visual overhaul for the company and a new logo is already in the works.

Thanks for your efforts, however, you obviously have a lot of talent for this sort of thing. Grin
Thanks!

P.S. That's great news about the company wide visual overhaul.??The fact that you've been around for 10 years is a huge source of confidence in your company and the fans/industry should know it.

Is it just the company that's getting a makeover or are the comics as well? I'm just asking because I've recently noticed the comics have looked a bit different. There are more adds and there's that new banner saying how Moonstone has been in the business for 10 years. Personally, I like these new changes. As for the logo, any hints as to what it will look like?

Okay, time to address this. Not to undermine anything anyone has said up to this point, as we can certainly all interpret things differently. But officially speaking, as the copublisher, I have no knowledge of a "complete visual overhaul" of any real sort. We're always striving to one-up ourselves and bring you better quality, of course. This is less of a reinvention than it is an ongoing goal. The Moonstone logo is not being redesigned, the format of the books isn't changing... we're kind of subscribing to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought. The banner at the top of the books is simply a blurb we're using for a little while to call a little attention to ourselves. We DO want to bring you the best, most interesting projects that we can, of course... so maybe from that point of view, we're overhauling ourselves every month!

Hi Raff,
Although I am not tied with any decisions at Moonstone beyond accepting cover assignments and such... I do talk to the editors at Moonstone (as well as other publishers)  about work, writers and artists that I come across that I find interesting (as an artist and comic book buyer). So, this is not a company response just a fellow Forum member that is trying to help this along.
Back when you first posted your intention, I looked through your project, "Devoid of Life" and I thought it was really outstanding and very ambitious. I have passed along my comments to Moonstone. I don't know if they had a chance to look over your story or not. They have a lot on their schedule at the moment and they are in the middle of launching their new projects like: The Spider, Doc Savage and the new pulp heroes that they have acquired like The Avenger and Captain Midnight.
This may not be the right time for submissions to Moonstone and it doesn't mean that your work was not acceptable. I think they're tied up right now with deadlines and schedules. "Devoid of Life" is obviously very professional and I truly enjoyed the read. Maybe, I can convince someone at Moonstone to reply to you by private message instead of on this thread.
And for all other readers here, go check out Raff's link to his work, it's very cool.
Best,
Doug

Doug,
Thank you for your kind thoughts and good wishes!  Great of you to mention the book to Moonstone.  I still have about 20 pages to draw and script anyway and I'm glad it's being so well received on the net by readers -that's what's really important.
Best,

I've only had time to read the first 25 odd pages but so far it looks very very nice. The artwork is just gorgeous!thumbs up Once I've read the full thing I'll be sure to give you my full thoughts! Until then, take care.
Raff,

wow! I've just quickly browsed through your work but this is a style of art (and storytelling) that I enjoy a lot. I actually stopped reading after a while because this is something I want to read in a book, and not on a computer screen wink

I'd be very happy for you if Moonstone could find the time to work with you, but if not I am sure you will find other interested publishers (and I would probably buy it no matter who published it!). But I'm sure you would be an asset to Moonstone and hope that they can find use for your talents sometime in the future.
