Phantom Vol 6 #14 $3.50

Call me stupid, but if we are up to vol.6 of the Phantom, what constitutes the previous 5 volumes? All I can think of is if we count the on-going as coming after Valley of the Golden Men which is the 5th volume of the original GNs, which, in turn, I guess makes Legacy Vol 7, Law Vol. 8 and Man-Eaters Vol. 9. Do I have this right?

This also brings up the interesting question of Moonstone's Phantom continuity. Can we assume that the original GNs (Vol. 1-5) takes place before the on-going and so forth?

Hi Dougy,
I presented your question to Joe and here's his response:

"Well, the 48pg graphic novels were still going on when we started up the regular series…so…we thought of it like this.

ALL of the stories were about the present day Phantom.

The one-shot 48pg graphic novels were stand alone stories, not really attached to continuity.

That’s where the series comes in. That is the story of the on-going adventures of the Phantom, chronologically.

That’s one of the reason we stopped the 48pg format, because scheduling wouldn’t allow for continuity, which we thought was eventually going to be needed to showcase the character like we though he should be.

So, sorry for the confusion!"

I hope that helps, and no one called you stupid either. wink

Thanks Mod, and give my thanks to Joe, thats tops. So the GNs are considered "in continuity". Perhaps the Phantom can have a Bengalla2 Universe now. laugh
