cool I've been lurking in the Moonstone forum area and just had to chime in.  I loved lettering this Annual and had great fun seeing how these all tied into each other...especially when I would get the completed chapters at different times.  All in all, it was a great read and lots of fun to put together. First time I think I've dealt with more than one "creative" team (artist/writer)...I got to deal with five!

I see that its sold out....

What does that mean for people who do not have a copy and may not get one into their comic store???
It seems like I got my copy just in time.

Is the selling out due to (for Moonstone Phantom) record sales or did Moonstone start cautiously when printing the Annual?
This story was a very good Phantom read. It's been quite a while since the Singh have been given this sort of attention and it was handled brilliantly. The Singh were written like they should always be, a ruthless enemy that will stop at nothing until they get what they want!! My personal favourite of the 5 Chapter would have to be Chapter 2 which was written by Tony Bedard with art by Allan Goldman.Allan Goldman's art was just beautiful and it would be cool to see him in a future Phantom storywink It was also interesting to see the way he drew the 11th Phantom's costume.. that is a guy you do not want to mess with. The new Singh leader introduced in this story [Temut Singh] is certainly a guy you don't wanna mess with.

My only problem with this was that the stories were just so short!! I would've personally liked to see the stories more fleshed out [especially the Dixon/Nolan story.. WAY TO SHORT!]

Apart from that, nice job and I look forward to seeing another Annual next yearthumbs up
MY. FAVORTIE. PHANTOM. BOOK. EVER!

Man, this is brilliant! Awesome art, brilliant story, Phantom nirvana is what it is! The juxtaposition of the different artistic and writing styles really works wonderfully and really shows not only how flexible a character the Phantom is but how he can be interpreted differently - and wonderfully - by so many various talents.

I really can't praise this book enough! Well done to all involved, you deserve some kind of medal!
Yah!!!

My comic store still did not have it in but my fiance found a copy at a comic/toy store so I got to read it yesterday....

My thoughts:
I was a little disappointed that it was only ten pages each as each story was worthy of a full 20-30 page story. I enjoyed all the stories...

Story One: Apart from the mistakes with the date and horse named hero, this was enjoyable. I really liked the artwork, it was a nice style , very disney style but I thought it set the standard for the whole book. The story was also good and I liked how the story was set up with the full page and intro to the skull cave.

Story Two: This was probably the most dark and 'adult' story of the five. Again the full page was nice when the Phantom took off his redcoat custome. I thought it was cleaver and an interesting to dig into a sub story about how his wife left him.

Story Three: This was my favourite story. Graham Nolan imho is one of the best to ever pen the Phantom and his artwork was beautiful, lets hope he does more comic stories for the Phantom/ Moonstone. I like western stories and seeing the Phantom battling baddies in the west?? Sounds good. Kinder feel sorry for Nixon as his story was great but im just gushing over Nolans work...

Story Four: I liked this story also (I like all of them btw). The double page spread was great and the plane fighting scene was good. I enjoyed the little mystery on the end by trying to find the piece of Dragon. This story would have been really good to see as a longer story.

Story Five: Mike had the hard challenge to try and tie all these pieces together, hard job and I think he managed to tie it together and yet still leave you wanting more with an ending not quite completing the story. The artwork was imho the most interesting point and not the point of him seeing the girl at night time (more on this later). This style is kinder painted and kinder cartoonish at the same time. I like it though, the Phantom is not some over grown muscle idiot with muscles coming out of his ears

OK probably the biggest discussion was Mikes point about Temur Singh comment about the Phantoms weakness of beautiful women. Now after reading it all I can say honestly is what a storm in a teacup. If you read the other stories, the other authors talk about the other Phantoms weaknesses. Its good to see the Singh more than just some wood-legged moldy old pirates but people with brains and knowledge.

Final Thoughts: I enjoyed it a lot. It was defiantly worth the effort of having to wait. Please lets us get another Annual soon. Are there any plans to release them regularly or annually etc??
Well, it;s an Annual, so I'd say annually. Grin
Well this bites. I have a standing deal with my local comic shop to get me any new Phantom Moonstone books and I still haven't heard anything about the annual from them. I guess this means I missed the boat somehow?? Argh!
Try the Moonstone store via their site.
The thing I found out about my comic store is that they can get in the regular series fine but when it comes to annuals, grahic novels and other specials you have to individually order them in, so maybe 'honestgeorge' yours is something like that.

I was waiting for the 'Man Eaters' and then they told me that, so I now have to wait another month for it. It would have been the same for the Annual but my fiance found it in another place.

Its a sucky situation!!
