This was a fun story to read for sure, C.J. Henderson seems to write Kolchak better each time he sets out to do so, although I did not get the dirty grimey air that Carl sometimes brings with him this book was just about right on. The 2nd and 3rd dimensional characters were written great and without giving much away the dream scene Carl has is outstanding and the visits from old friends was something I did not expect. I hope the new novels keep up the same pace as the single issues and graphic novels because it is great to read about such a deep character.
Really great story, guys! I think C.J. needs to stay on the payroll. Judging from his numerous quality additions to the Kolchak universe he's way too valuable of a commodity to let go.
Oh, and here's an idea that may not have occured to anybody yet. You know how Kolchak always runs around talking into his little tape recorder? Well, have you ever put any thought into producing a radio play? I realize it's a bit out of your jurisdiction seeing as you only publish the printed word, (and Mr. McGavin is dead so who could possibly fill his shoes?), but on the other hand it does seem like a natural extension to what you guys do already. Dark Shadows has recently re-emerged in a similar fashion with another actor playing Barnabas so it isn't as if the idea is without precident or anything.
But all said, keep 'em coming! Radio plays, comics, novels... I'll take my Kolchak any way it's given! (I'm a sucker like that.)
Hi,
Any idea when the hardcover edition of Black & Evil Truth will be released? I ordered it on Amazon and the (very tentative) shipping estimate they gave was late December.
Keep up the good Kolchak work.
Finally got my hands on a copy today. Good work.
Hoping to have more to say later on this one...
