Picked up my copy of The Phantom Chronicles yesterday. Just thumbing through the book gave me a sense of holding what will become a fantastic contribution to Phantom lore. Just 3 stories in, I'm hooked, and my first impression is confirmed. I know this book's been a long time in the making, but I can already say, "May I have some more, please!" I hope this sells as well as it deserves to, and that Chronicles II is scheduled soon!
For a longtime fan like me, the chance of reading what Valerie Falk thinks about her father's creation would be worth the entire price alone. Can't wait until this arrives in my mailbox. It's been too long since we saw the Phantom appear in the prose format, and I think it suits the character very well.
This just arrived at the store for me but at $33 I might have to save for a while before I can pick it up. They joys of being a full time student. Still, I can't wait to read this!

I'm glad you liked it. I've only had a chance to read two other stories in it, but I really loved Clay & Susan Griffith's The Ghost Who Dies. If the rest are as good as that one, I'll be more than satisfied with the reading experience.

Valerie's intro was awesome. You can tell she really loved her Father a lot and is really proud (rightfully so) of the legacy he left behind.

You've waited this long, a few more days shouldn't kill you... as long as it doesn't sell out. :sly02:

I was impressed by that story as well... really gripping, although I was close to figuring it out, or at least I thought I was. Then they threw that twist in on me. I'm not sure I like it that the character turned out to be who they were, but then you have to think, what happens to people who are these people?

Yeah, I started that very cryptically, for the sake of people who haven't gotten their copies yet. I'm hoping those who've read it understand.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Oh, it may sell out, but my copy is guaranteed! The boys at my LCS know that if they don't hold me a copy that their life would be ended quite quickly.:sly02:

Sounds like you have a good shop then. Grin

Oh yes, my LCS is brilliant. I hear these horror stories from people about how rubbish their stores are and I just think "wow, I must be lucky!"
Hey

Thanks for the nice comments on our story The Ghost Who Dies. Susan and I are proud of it. And thanks to Joe and the Moonstone folks who let us write the Phantom. We were delighted to add a little piece to the Phantom mythos. And we can't wait to read the other contributions in the book!
