“Checkmate #2 (of 5)”

The biggest arc in Moonstone’s Phantom run, culminating in the double sized issue #25, continues! After the tragic end to last issue, The Phantom must pick up the pieces and move forward to discover who is responsible. However, his mourning is violently interrupted when war comes to the Deep Woods.

”Definitely worth checking out, whether you're a Phantom fan or not." – Scoop

“One of the most incredible Phantom comics I've ever read.” – Comixtreme
Cool, a cover by EricJ. I was wondering when he was going to pop up again! Grin Now get him to do some interior art. Pray
This certainly sounds like a story where the Phantom really, and then I mean REALLY, gets into trouble, and we don't get anywhere near enough of those. "War comes to the deep woods"... Terrific. I can't wait to read this.

I hope issue 25 will be as special as it sounds like, and that Mike will make the most of the extra space to tell a conclusion that really blows the reader away. Was the artist supposed to be EricJ or was it someone else?

The cover was originally going to be done by Mike Wieringo... :sad02:

I see that Silvestre will be joined by a new talent on inks. I'm hoping that Tomas will keep the art on a consistent high level, and that this means that there will be no delays even though #25 is doublesized thumbs up
