Read this on the train on the way home from the comic store today. Man, this arc is shaping up to be quite something. All the players are finally being revealed and the plot is now so thick you could stick a spoon in it and the spoon would stand up!

Mikes story telling in this issue is superb. Not one speach bubble is waisted, there is no "filler" in this book like some other comic writers like to add (I'm looking at YOU, Bendis! Tongue03 ). The scene between the Phantom and his children in particular was amazing. It was so heart wrenching ad it really showed just how vulnerable the Phantom can be. The look on his face after Heloise's comment would break even the coldest heart.

What I really loved about this issue though was that I had this feeling while reading it that the Moonstone Phantom mythos are beginning to come together. The political situation in Bengalla has been well established, we have a very nice rouges gallery building up as well as the various terrorist groups and we can see how the Phantom works within that world and, of particular interest to me personally, how he works with Luaga and with the Bengalla government. You can see the world of Moonstone's Phantom coming together and it simply amazing. It's a world I can't wait to explore more of!

I had to laugh when I say the "Ghost Who Edits" mark. It reminds me of kind of stuff Stan Lee used to put into the Marvel books.

The only complaint I have about this issue is that in parts the art looked a little off. Szilagyi has proven to be very capable so I don't know if it was Tomas Pedroza's inks or what but the art just didn't look as good as in past issue. I'm assuming that during the talks with Locke and Temur where we see the closeups of the mens rings I felt like I should be able to see what they were, like they were a clue of some wort, but I couldn't make them out due to the heavy ink work.

Still, it's another brilliant issue from Moonstone. Call me an @$$ kisser if you want but since issue #14 I'm yet to be disappointed by Mike. Bring on #23!
