So I'm thinking of picking up #0, but I've never read an issue in my life and never really cared for the character so I'm really quite unsure whether to pick it up. I realise it only costs $2, but I could spend that money on something else (gum comes to mind. I'm obsessed with the stuffWhat?)

So did anyone who picked it up think I should check it out??
I never read anything about the character before or had any of the toys and I thought it was a decent read. Sets up the new era rather nicely.

Awesome, thanksGrin So do you think a Captain Action newbie like myself will be able to understand whats going on??

I'm a newbie myself and I understood it just fine.
Thanks for your help Brian!
Aside from vague memories that he was an action figure I had no idea about Captain Action, but since I've always been a fan of Fabian's writing and Moonstone rarely steers me wrong I gave #0 a try.
Good stuff. Nice intro, great art, loved the fight scene and the hints of what's to come were interesting.

Looking forward to more.
I liked it !
I have a copy of the original DC Series #1 and it was good fun - issue #0 has me intrigued enough to keep an eye out for future issues - the only bit I didn't like was Saviours dodgy beard !
So I picked it up, and I thought it was a pretty good read. The main standard out was the art, very nice! This issue does a good job of setting up the new series and is also a very good jumping on point for new fans. Looking forward to more!
