I don't believe this has been brought up previously but considering Sideshow has carried Phantom merchandise in the past I wonder what are the chances of a Sideshow 12" Phantom figure? Their stuff is always high quality and considering they aren't mass market, with their distribution or prices, I think it would be a perfect fit.
I'm thinking you'd have to ask the fine folks at Sideshow Collectibles. Or Todd McFarlane.
I'd love to have one...

I've heard a rumor that someone has put some money into the designed-but-never-produced Flattworld Phantom figure. Either to bankroll it or make an outright purchase of some or part of the design. Has anyone else heard anything about this?
Eh, McFarlane can take a leap as far as I'm concerned. I would just love to see a quality Phantom figure and Sideshow is the organization who can pull that off.
According to Chronicle Chamber, a new version of the Captain Action Phantom is set to be released... I am looking forward to get one if the prize is reasonable. I've always wanted a proper Phantom figure.
While I'd prefer a higher end and more detailed figure I'll definately be on the look out for this, thanks for the head's up. When anyone sees this out please let us know here.

I'd prefer a high-end figure as well, but the truth is, they're out of my reach. There's been some nice figures in the past couple of years, but they're far too expensive. Something in the range of the under $20 DC Direct figures would be nice for a change, and go a longer way in putting a Phantom figure in the hands of the masses.
The price tag of the higher end figures used to scare me away too, especially Sidehsow and Hot Toys. But when I stopped buying mass market figures and decided instead to stick with the 1:6 scale I found I could afford to get a few of those figures a year, as opposed to many cheaper ones. When you reason in gas prices and the "wow" effect of the higher end figures, as compared to the 6" Target / Wal-Mart variety, I find it really pays to save up for the bigger and better figures; they're far more satisfying.

Glad it works for you. Me. I'm only going to look for a Phantom figure, as I'm not interested in buying other kinds of figures. If there's one cheaper Phantom figure coming out in one year's time, then I'm buying one Phantom figure per year. If there's only an expensive Phantom figure coming out, then I'm buying nothing.
