Hello everybody. Big fan of Moonstone's books, but I am curious as to what has happened to all the books that were supposed to be out by now.
Zorro, Avenger, Doc Savage Radio Scripts, Domino Lady, the Infiniteens comic are all on my late list for months and months now.
Have they been cancelled and will be resolicited later? If so, that's cool, I will order them through Diamond again when they are.
I am a big fan of your comics and look forward to seeing these books.
Thanks,
MikeM
If I may add another one to the list. The Phantom Jungle Action Trade Paperpack, is it availble yet as well?
With such incredibly long delays, some might even think that Moonstone has financial difficulties and might even go bankrupt; I never seen a publisher respect so little release dates or care so little about informing costumers of what is going on; even the shops I go to are dead tired of these endless delays. And like that was not enough, books that do finally get released are in such small limited numbers, grossly underestimating long-term sales potential, with good titles like the Spider Chronicles out of stock everywhere too short after their initial release, and way too limited hardcover editions which I like many prefer
Might as well not mention anything to begin with until the work is done; there is no point in getting people excited just to p!$$ them off with nonsense delays

Hi Mike,
I checked in with the big boss to see what I could find out for you and this is what he said:
Infiniteens has unfortunately been canceled as of issue #2 (which is already out), due to poor sales. We loved the book, but to few members of the retail community thought the same way.
Tales of Zorro is at the printer right now.
Avenger and Domino Lady are 6-8 weeks away.
Doc Savage is about 80% done, as most of our time has been put into restoration of decaying film files that were unusable, and that work is painstakingly slow.
Sadly, as one book becomes late... there is a little domino effect (no pun intended) and we are working very hard at correcting this and restoring order...
We apologize to all, but are doing the very best we can to put out cool quality books.
Doc, Avenger, Zorro, Domino...all are coming out soon. Thanks for your patience.
I hope that helps.
Thanks Mod on the Moon.
The main reason I was asking is because I originally ordered the soft-covers from Diamond and now I want the Hard-covers because of the extra material. But I don't know if my local comic shop can change that now through Diamond.
Shame about Infiniteens. I was enjoying it.
As for late books: Phantom comes out pretty regularly. I love the Phantom book.

Personally, I understand crap happens (especially when your an independent) and books can be late. What I don't understand is making fans come on the boards and question where these way late books are. Seriously, late books are annoying but not knowing when(or even if) the books are still coming is even worse. I really encourage you, Moonstone guys, to do everything possible to pro actively communicate with the fans as to the status of solicited but late projects. Whether this be through a blog, newsletter, press release or even all three, I can say without a doubt we fans will appreciate not being left in the dark.
Were issues past #2 of Infiniteens completed that possibly could be posted on Wowio? I'm LOVING your Wowio releases!

Very much agree with what IdKidd is saying here. While I understand that you are a small publisher and working your butts off to get your books out on shelves, it is very frustrating when you are looking forward to a book with it to be hit by delays and there being no word for many months on whats going on.
Hopefully the new website will restore order for the Men on the Moon.
Thats what I loved about the upcomming release dates section off the main page. How come that doesn't get updated anymore.
BTW, just read Captain Action #0 and the last three issues of The Phantom. Awesome stuff.

While we absolutely agree that we want to let everyone know when the books are coming, these message boards are the only easy way to communicate with the readers. So, we post the info in the Solicits and Moonstone Checklist threads as often as possible. One of the biggest pitfalls of being a small publisher is that printers often give you the "red headed stepchild" treatment. When they have customers who print half a million copies of fifty seven magazines a month or hundreds of thousands of newspapers a day, the customer who prints five to ten thousand comic books often gets put on the back burner. Granted they (the printers) don't admit to such things, but it happens to all the Indy/Small Press comic publishers.
Once the new website is online, all these communications concerns should be moot, not to mention you'll have LOTS of neat new info, art, etc to read/view/enjoy with the new site.

attachment=25]So, when can we expect to actually see the Tales of Zorro (so many dates out there in the aether that you can't rely on), The Avenger Chronicles, Domino Lady... come on, I want to support this publishing program by pre-ordering but the solicits can't be relied on at all.
