I was almost going to say this issue was only okay..and then I got to page 20 and it shot right up to great! It's no secret that I loved the Aviatrix story line so to see Sky Queen and the girls return was a huge blast for me! I've been waiting for them to come back into the story but I never suspected them to turn up here, a brilliant surprise that literally had me cheering. Very Happy

With that said though, I do feel this was the weakest part of the arc thus far. The dialog between Ortega and Diana at the beginning of the issue felt a little convoluted and like it was going around in circles a bit. The fight scenes too felt clumsy and we've seen Silvestre do better. Also, Ortega's face just look painted, not like it had been burnt to a crisp first. Perhaps that last is nit-picky but it did kind of bother me.

A few other things that are just questions rather than comments; the twins are shown here as being brunette but I've always thought they were blond. Have they ever been given an "official" hair colour? On page 14 does the Phantom break that guys neck or just knock him out between panels? It's kind of hard to tell. Lastly, Ortega says on the final page that the last "batch of juice" he gave the Phantom should keep him down for a while yet I re-checked and couldn't actually see this happening. There was the new form of manic that apparently didn't work on the Phantom but was there another after that? If so I can't see it anywhere in the art.

Oh, and Paul...I'm sorry sorry, man. Crying or Very sad

I must say too I really liked how Silvestre drew Diana in this issue.

Really looking forward to #25! Can't wait to see where this all goes!

Sorry, Paul, it had to be done. You're now officially collateral damage.

At least I am now a real Ghost Who Walks. wink

I guess I can finally start using one of my favourite film-line clichees in real life: "You can't kill me, I'm already dead!".

The issue looks damn good, and I can't wait to read it. I did receive my comics in the mail yesterday, and I intend to get through them in one sitting later today.
Finally read this today, and I quite enjoyed it. I haven't read #23 yet as my LCS is been wierd lately with their Phantom issues. They keep skipping issues before jumping back inShock Its really quite bizarre and I'm going to have to give them an ear bashing next time I'm down there. So despite not reading the previous issue I could still follow this one easily enough but I'll be ordering #23 from the Moonstone Web Site just to catch up on what I missed.

Yeah this felt light the weakest part of the issue for me as well. It really bugs me when a bad guy feels the need to tell everybody his master planWall

I just assumed that it happened off panel. But yes it does seem wierd that the first batch doesn't work on him and then the second one does. Either the first had a delayed reaction or in his weakened state after his battle with the Sky Band he just couldn't hold up his defences any longer.

But man, the return of the Sky Band!Grin03

And Paul, I'm so sorry man... but you never know, you can never really trust these bad guys, so there's still hopewink

Can't wait to read #25 regardless of when I get to read itwink Oh, and $10 says Devil gets his master out of this tough situation at the start of the next issue...

I always find this a good storytelling device... It is useful for the new readers (or viewer in a Hollywood film, as it happens often there too) to kind of get a summaration of some of the plot, and it's good for regular readers to remember a few things, so I think it worked well. It's also cool to see Diana in some real trouble again. In the Egmont books, she's barely a part of the series these days, and I prefer Moonstone's version of her much more.

What James Bond movie would be complete without such a scene? wink
