How much longer till the winners are announced?

It's been over for nearly a fortnight and still no word. Has a winner been chosen and have they been notified?

I emailed 'em about it a few days ago, and this is what they said:

Came here to have a look if my friend had been successful on this, but a little concerned that the winner had already been chosen on the first of the month when they didn't post theirs by then and the deadline was the 5th, I know (but what chance would anyone replying by the deadline actually have if the winner was selected prior to it)
All a bit concerning. Don't think I'll tell them...

(Any news anyway?- suppose they may have made it to runner up)

It did finish on the 5th. Mike just made a mistake when he said it was over.

Sorry about that. I got my dates mixed up.

There was a clear cut winner before the 1st, but from the 2nd to 5th several equally strong submissions came in under the wire. I'm not sure if Moonstone has decided which of those will be selected as a winner, but it should be announced soon. The runners-up most likely won't be revealed until the issue hits the stands.

So, tell your friend to keep heart and from what I saw after the 1st, keep up the excellent efforts.

Is your friends artwork on the net? I'd love to check it out and if he wishes I can post it on Phan Works over at DA.

Completely understand the mistake made (and certainly wouldn't want you to feel bad about it)-
was just concerned that a choice had been made before the date-
but completely clarified now. And thanks for that again.

As far as pointing you to this guy's way Puggdog-
I think I might have already overstepped the mark here and probably wouldn't want the guy to know I'd enquired in his interest.
He did a favour for a charity I'm involved in recently and I thought this situation here would suit him because he doesn't tend to put himself out there- but I don't want him to necessarily know I've brought his stuff up as I know he only posts stuff online with the commissioner's blessing normally and not known him to put anything on a fansite.
I think I'll leave it to him to let me know what happens next and say nothing about this, but- depending on the outcome- we'll see if I can get a copy on here sometime if it doesn't end up in print.

Okay, a winner has been chosen. There are four covers that really stand head and shoulders over the rest. Of those four, I was told it was really tough to decide on the winner. However, decide they did. The winner will be unveiled later this month when the solicit for #1 goes out.

In addition, the other three were so good, Moonstone has decided to use them as covers in the future, so there are really four winners to this contest.

To the best of my knowledge, the winners will be notified before the solicit date, but chances are it won't be much earlier than everyone else finds out.
