Yeah, I know it's kind of cheesy, but I was really pleased out Doug's classic Phantom portrait (print 19/250!) turned out on my wall.
Take a peek here!

I hope it meets Phan approval!)

Niiiiiiiiiiice!!!
Congratulations on getting the painting! Wow, it looks even better framed than on the cover of the paperback. I hope I can get the money to buy one of his works one day too.

Reading the headline, I thought somebody had framed Doug Klauba. ShockWhistle
Someone is Always trying to frame be but the rap never sticks - fortunately.
And if anyone loves good pulp stories, great art and a brilliant character, I recommend reading Dave Flora's "Ghost Zero" which is linked above in his post. And order a copy of the book! It's nicely packaged and designed as well - a high class production.
Dear Mr. Klauba,
A majority of phantom fans, including me, consider you as one of the best cover artists, phantom comics, of any country, has ever seen. This is not to suggest that other cover artists are not doing a good job. Now you should draw the artwork of an entire phantom story. Also, if you can draw the covers of Mandrake comics, it will be great.
Yeah, I've always wanted to see Doug do a Phantom book with painted artwork. I remember he was originally going to do Law of the Jungle, but Paul Guinan ended up doing it instead (and did a terrific job).

It wouldn't have to be a long story, just seeing the Phantom punch someone would be enough for me as long as it was painted by Doug.

If a new Phantom movie is released, he could even work on posters and such for that one. Painted film posters are the ones I tend to like best, like the work of Drew Struzan on films such as Star Wars and Blade Runner.
Sherlock,
Thanks for your comment about my Phantom covers. I truly enjoy working on them and it's been a definite highlight to be associated with one of my all time favorite comic characters. And you are very right, there are a lot of great Phantom covers coming from artists all over the world.
I would absolutely love to do a full story and one day it may possibly happen. But for the time being my schedule is pretty full with a variety of illustration and comic book cover assignments, including a series of new Phantom covers coming from Moonstone.
And Walker, for the record on Law of the Jungle: I was indeed announced as the artist on that book but that was before we had agreed on a solid schedule and timely delivery of the art. Later on I had some family matters that came about suddenly and needed immediate medical attention that was going to last for about four to six months. The deadline was then discussed at the same time this was all coming down on me so- it ended up being bad timing and I had to concentrate on my family and graciously back out of the project.
I was offered a Mandrake cover but I haven't heard back from the Moonstone editor... we'll see.
I've made the new wrap around Phantom painting for #25 available for sale at a special price to anyone interested:

I would love to buy that but the price is just a little out of my league. If only I had won lotto.
That really is a beautiful piece Doug.
If you've read any of my posts concerning the cover contest you'll notice I know what I'm on about and have a real appreciation for comic ART.
I'm part invested in a friend's gallery that sells original comic art-
I was hoping to get hold of the piece entered for the competition by whoever PS was to sell there at around the price you're offering yours at, but haven't had a reply from the poster on here who alerted me to it. Might see if I can persuade my friend to purchase yours too and have a mini Phantom themed wall with maybe Lucas' too then.
Ideally we'd have normally looked to buy at around a thousand and then doubled it for a cover piece, but could probably stretch for a wrapaound of such quality.
Problem is that the gallery's based way out of town for me and it seemed last time I spoke that he was waiting until the new year for a set of purchases like this.
But I'l get back to you if Ican convince him.
Either way-
stunning work.
