Well, the SD convention is approaching FAST! ALOT of our writers and artists are going to be on hand to sign at the Moonstone booth, booth #2042 to be exact! Here is the schedule as it stands for the moment. Be sure to stop by our booth for last minute additions/subtractions. Editor-in-chief Joe Gentile, and ME, the Gal on the Moon, will be running thebooth, so stop on by if you get the chance. As soon as we get back, I will post a lengthy report on all the craziness, so check back after July 24th. Well, I won't be getting back home until the 24th, so don't expect a report for at least a day or two, I imagine I will be rather exhausted. The SD is the BIGGEST and the BEST of the US comic conventions, so go if you can! And don't forget, Moonstone is hosting our first ever San Diego Comicon International Panel discussion, all about the man in purple: the Phantom! (Moonstone has hosted other panels at other shows, but this is the first time we are able to do something like this at the SD show!) I won't be able to report on the panel directly since someone has to run the booth while the Phantom boys are off celebrating his birthday at the panel, which is ironic since this is my "baby" so to speak, but you go get them Joe and Mike, and the rest of the gang! I can't thank the good peopel at the SD con enough, they've been just great about this panel and every other aspect of the show. SD is the BEST run comic show in the states, hands down, sorry Wizard, but they've got you beat by a mile and then some!

Moonstone Gal out for now...
Ok,
we are back! WOW what a convention! NOTHING compares to the San Diego con, that is for sure! We had a great show, thanks to all of our fans and creators that made this possible. A special thank you to our designated "helpers" for the con, EricJ and Len Kody, we couldn't have done it without you! Our big sellers: Buckaroo Banzai #!, followed by Phantom Law of the Jungel, Phantom Legacy and Kolchak Chronicles. So many of our creators agreed to sign at our table, and we appreciate it, it was a blast! We were a little cramped for space, but everyone was a real sport about the whole thing. Here's hoping we can have two booths at next year's con, keep your fingers crossed everyone, because space is at a premium for next year's con, so it's going to take some luck to get that second space! YES, believe it or not, they are already booked for next year, or pretty damn close to it, it's an amazing show, and that is the proof right there, in case you needed any.

I just LOVE the city of San Diego, so it's always a special treat to be able to attend a convention there. LOTS of cool restaurants to pick from which is a definate plus when you've worked long and hard all day and need a good meal. The shopping in the Gaslamp District is also very cool, just in case you need more places to spend your hard earned cash, besides the con! The SD con has a wonderful collection of designer t-shrits, jewlery, ceramics, and so much more! This Gal was quite pleased with the few items I managed to snag, when I had a few spare moments to puruse the neighboring aisles. It's most likely a GOOD thing that I didn't have more time to look around, because I would have spent more cash that I dont' have! Temptation everywhere the eye can see! The joys of the SD con!

As you've seen posted elsewhere, the Phantom panel was a success, thanks again to all of our creators that took the time out to be part of the Phantom's 70th anniversary! For those of you that weren't able to attend, we will have a link to the podcast from Word Balloon as soon as they have it available. We hope to host another Phantom panel next year, jungle gods willing of course. We hope to add a Bucakroo and/or Kolchak panel too! When it gets closer to next year's big show, we will let you all know what the scoop is!

I will be adding to this thread, I just wanted to get some initial thoughts out there. Anyone who attended, feel free to post your thoughts about the show.

Moonstone Gal out!
It sounds like things were going great for you. I am always pleased to hear that Phantom books are among the big sellers of your stock! If Law of the Jungle really was your second best seller, that is great. Buckaroo Banzai, I think, is a normal prized comic book, whereas LOTJ, (and Legacy), are fairly expensive graphic novels.

I had a great time (as always) and want to thank Joe, Lori and the rest of the Moonstone gang for putting up with my antics. It was great fun to meet so many awesome people in person finally. Sure it's wonderful to know folks via email and message boards, but nothing will ever replace face-to-face meetings. Hanging out with Doug Klauba and Rafael was a highlight, as well as the Phantom panel and of course my time spent in the Moonstone booth with Joe, Lori, Len & Eric J. I can't wait for next year when we should have at least 6 issues of my Phantom run in stores and at the booth. And maybe even the first issue of the new Phantom special project I'm doing with... oops, was I supposed to mention that yet?

Yeah, yeah, why don't you name it already? [God, I can't choose a smiley. They're all so wonderful. Okay, let's settle down for this:] Dance

Just kidding, Mike. Keep on teasing. It's a part of the fun and I really enjoy it.

I'm happy to read you all had a great time in San Diego.

You guys keep on taking all of my money!

Maybe it is a new on-going book about historical Phantoms or something? Or is it a mini/maxi-series? Think

Come on, man, don't be such a big tease, go out and announce the thing as soon as possible! :grin04: (what a nice set of smileys on this new board!)

Since there's only 4 people in the whole world who know what it is, I don't think whatever you're thinking it is, is correct. I will admit to being curious as to what you think it is, though. wink

OK Mike you talked me into it!! Well over in the original Moonstone Forum you were asking if more poeple wanted stories like Legacy, like straight out of the Chronicles. And you were saying that you wanted to do this so what I THINK this new series is is stories from the Chronicles. Probably not correct but oh well whatever this new series or whatever is going to happen I'm sure it will be great!!
