Well...what did you all think of the movie? I finally got around to checking it out, and well...it was OK. Sorry, I didn't LOVE the movie. It was a little long at times, some scenes could have been edited down, I think. My favorite thing about the movie? Kevin Spacey! He was GREAT as Lex Luthor! I would give it a C+, entertaining, but I don't feel the need to own it on DVD. Post your reactions and thoughts about the movie here!
It was good but not brilliant. I haven't seen the last couple of movies in the Christopher Reeves series so I don't really understand how Supes has a son. I asked my Mum about it as she's seen all the original movies and all she said was that you have to read the original movies to understand. So now I have to go and watch all the movies!! I saw this more as a romance kinda story rather than action packed although when he got shot in the eye by that bank robber I was quite impressed when it just shattered and fell at the ground!
Rating? B

Well..you really just need to see the first two Chris Reeve movies. Singer and crew kinda act like the last two didn't happen.
Overall...yeah, I was disappointed. I wouldn't mind if someone else bought me the DVD, but I'm not getting it. Well, unless I scrounge up the cash for the monster Superman set coming out with ALL the movies and a psuedo-Richard Donner version of Superman 2.
The cast was better than I expected, even the scrawny guy playing Supes. But I could've done without the constant Superman 1 riffs and the whole Supes-As-Jesus thing. Yes, I know the parallels. You don't have to whap me over the head with it.
I just wish they'd done their own take on it instead of this semi-sequel.
And ditch the kid.
C or C+ works for me.

That makes my life so much easier than, if only I could remmeber what happened in them

Oh, I forgot to mention just HOW annoying that damn kid was, aaarrggh! He needed a haricut or a hair brushing at the very least, man oh man, his character or lack thereof was pointless. It would have been a MUCH better movie without him, I think anyway...
Yeah, I won't be getting the DVD. I'm not a huge Superman fan at all - the only Supes books I've read are Death of Superman, the one where Doomsday returns (rubbish!) and the current All Star Superman which I'm quite enjoying becasue it's goofy, not becasue it's Superman.
Still, I enjoyed the film, not the best comic film I've seen, but still a good popcorn flick. I can't say I particularly impressed by Spacey, he didn't seem to have enough screentime. Routh was tops as the Blue Boy thoug. And yeah, I hated the kid.
The hight light for my was seeing all the camos of AUstralian actors/personalities! Go the Aussies!
