On that note, will Rex be in his kingly possition and hanging out with the beautiful Alicia in your story? Oooh I hope so, as it'd be cool to see he ruling Barhonkahn (hope I spelt that right) still.
Well, I'll have to cross that bridge when I come to it. Right now I'm busy finishing the script for #16 and working on the plot for 17-19 as well as formulating more ideas for 20-25. After that, you never know... unless Moonstone fires me.
Got a question Mike. If I pick up #12 and have never read a Phantom comic in my life. How accessible will it be?
I can't really answer that, but I think Mike is treating it as a jumping on point for new Phans.
Thanks Dougy. I figure Mike will make it as accessable as possible, but always nice to hear it from him as well.
Knowing me though if I end up liking it, I will end up tracking down and ordering the first 11 issues as long as I can afford to do so. I don't try to have a completist type of personality, but I do. I am very close to having my complete Flash run of the second volume and I didn't start collecting it till after issue 190 or so.
Well looks like my answer was already answered in an interview that Mike and Gabriel already did. Please feel free to answer the question again here Mike. Always nice to hear your thoughts on this coming into a series at issues 12 rather than the comics you have already done where you were the writer from the start to finish.

It was pretty interesting and definitely has me interested in the book. I am completely new to Phantom comics. My only knowledge of the character is the movie that was done and I don't remember much if anything from it as I was fairly young when I saw it.

I don't know what's going on with that post, but something went awry on ya.
Anyway, I'm assuming you meant the BF interview Gabriel and I did. Correct me if I'm wrong (and correct that post too, Mister!
)
Anyway, I think it's a pretty good jumping on point for new readers. The book is totally revamped (and even more so with issue 13 where the new regular artist Carlos Magno makes his brilliant debut) and a brand new story line begins. A new villian is introduced, new situations brought in and we're going to begin running extra content in each issue that is designed to bring new (and old) readers up to speed on all things Phantom.
Looking back on it, I don't think it'll be remembered as my best story, since I feel like I'm just now really hitting my stride on the series, but hopefully people will like it enough to come back for more.
Bruin26, the first 6 (I belive) issues are alreadt in trade form, so it shouldn't be long before the rest are.
#1–4 of the comic series is available in the TPB "Death in the Deep Woods". I'm hoping there will be a TPB with #5–11 aswell (these stories are a bit shorter, so I think it would be possible to squeeze them all into one volume instead of doing two trade volumes).
TPB's are great for new readers to catch up on what's come out previously instead of tracking down individual issues. Mike, do you know if a new TPB volume is planned to come out anytime soon? It would be great if it could be released shortly after you have started your run on the series (and hopefully attracted a bunch of new readers).

Sorry I didn't catch this question earlier, Andreas. I know Moonstone does have another trade in the works, but when it'll come out and what will be in it, I'm not sure. I think the current plan for the first trade I'm involved with will be to reprint 12-15 and possibly the annual, but that won't come out for at least a year...
Thanks for answering Mike, I'll see if i can take this question elsewhere on the forum and find someone who knows more about upcoming trades.
