Of all the upcoming special projects, I find the prose collections to be the most exciting.

It is around 30 years since we saw Phantom stories "without pictures" (not counting the book adaptation of the Billy Zane film), and I hope the final result will be a good one.

When are we going to see more news on these two books?
Excuse my stupidity but I still have no idea about what a prose anthology is!!! Ok so the stories in it are they in comic book form or in novel form? An explantion would be great!

Novel form.
Basically, it's a novelized collection of short stories. Each story will have one illustration to accompany it, similar to the chapter art in many pulp novels.
Oh ok thanks guys for clearing that up!!

I would love to see some character based stories for a change. We very rarely get Phantom stories, from any publisher, which dvelves a little deeper into his head, so there's a lot of areas that could be explored here.
I really enjoyed the Avon novels and thought they did excatly as what Walker mentioned about getting into the Phantoms head and I felt we learnt so much more than just a comic could.

Yeah, but when we do the self-appointed "traditional" phans get all up-in-arms about it Naughty

Still, I totaly agree, character development and study is, IMO, one of the THE most interestign things any form of media can do! I'd love to see more.

Soon my friend soon! Right now we are hoping to have the first Phantom anthology out sometime in the first part of 2007 with the second anthology in the second half of 2007. Still a little early in the game to nail down dates, but as soon as we have a better projection, I will shout it from the rooftops. (Can you tell we are excited about this project?) I can't wait! We are finishing up the first round of edits on the Spider anthology, and when that wraps up, we will move onto the first round of edits on the first Phantom anthology! At least, that is the plan! Think
We are also hoping that these books will be a gateway for NEW fans to be introduced to the Phantom, since they will be on the shelves of many Border's and Barnes and Nobles here in the states.

Thank you so much for the info, I can hardly wait to read these things!
