I don't think this show was all that bad. In its infancy, it was not the NIGHT STALKER however if given a chance by fans and networks, I do believe itwould have found a good balance of humor and horror. The last few episodes are really good ---the ones that were unaired but I tend to think all of them were entertaining and scary...and the last one with the thing in the closet was nice and twisty. The unmade scripts on the DVDs were EXCELLENT especially THE M WORD which has a great deal of humor between all the characters, in the plot, and between Karl and Tony! I thought this show was really quite good, even if it was not the old one. It should have been given more of a chance. The other unmade script is a nice story about a boy who can tell victims that they are going to be killed...unforunately he's autisitic and he has a particular way of telling them...
Hm....I do indeed want to check out the dvd set, so I can see the unaired episodes. I agree with you, innout, if the network would have given it, oh I don't know, maybe at least a half a season or dear lord, a full season, who knows how good it could have been! Damn you network execs, we will never know...bah! (ahem, is is just me or does your name on these boards sound wrong somehow? "innout"? I certainly hope you are referring to a hotel of some type, because this is a family message board after all!)

Hmmm...I just thought it was referring to the best hamburger joint around (gah...I miss them, too).
Sounds to me like someone's just got a dirty mind.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I really wish the show had been given more time to find it's following, but I have no idea how much money the network was losing every episode, so I can't really second-guess their decision to cancel it. My wife and I loved it and were really getting into it when they canned it. Too bad they couldn't have at least finished the two-part story it ended with.

I'm judgemental and shallow. The networks rightfully bowed to my wishes. Hah! Puny networks. How easily I control you! Now all the rest of you... agree with me, quickly! Agree, or I will destroy you all!

Have to agree with this. After watching the complete DVD set, you can see the show improving with each episode. I think if the network had completed the two-parter, more people would have signed up. Even my wife commented that the best episodes were the ones never shown, and she became a rabid fan of the original show after watching it on DVD.
"Puny networks" indeed!

I just found the entire show offensive. It just seemed like a pointless exercise: Take an old TV show from the 70s with a cult following and bring it into the 21st Century. Only make him 25 years younger. And then take away his stubborn, grating personality. And tidy him up a bit. He was too unkempt. Let's make him fashionable this time. To make up for his now utter lack in personality let's give him some sidekicks. Lastly, lets get rid of the humor. What's left? A show devoid of what worked with the original series that only succeeded in alienating the original cult audience in order to attract a younger one, and they turned out not to be stupid enough to be deceived that it was anything other than an X-Files clone.
Thank the lord it's gone, that's all I can say.

Amen.
