Some good sword fighting scenes would be great!!
That's exactly why I love the thirteenth Phantom:

13th Phantom (succeeded ca. 1812):
Finest swordsman of his age, educated in America, fought in war of 1812, Married Jeanette, sister of famous pirate Jean Lafitte ca. 1812-8 (1979-1980 Sundays). (1994 dailies say he married Indian Chief's daughter and searched for buried pirate treasure in 1795, and that it was the 14th who married Jeanette. 1994 dailies also indicate that the 13th Phantom knew his own grandfather the 11th, perhaps unique in the Phantom line).
I'm pretty sure I have that story where he marries Jeanette, now I just have to go and find it.
The 13th gets my vote!!

Oddly enough, Lee Falk wrote two stories about the 13th Phantom, the one where he marries Jeanette Lafitte, and another one, where he is born as the shortest guy in the whole line of Phantoms. He is nicknamed "The runt", and marries a gal named Vhatta Kahn. Two totally different versions, if you like.
But if you're reading the stories chronologically, you've probably not seen it yet Mike, it's from the early nineties.

Was that not the 9th???
also Brucey sorry to be a pain but is it possible for you not to write your replies and posts in red? Its really bad on the eyes as it has shocking contrast. Sorry if I appear picky....

9th Phantom (Born ca. 1700): AKA "The Runt", described by Old Man Mozz as the strongest and shortest Phantom. As noted above, one of 4 sons all named Kit; became Phantom and married Mongol Princess Vhatta ca. 1726. Also destroyed Zaal, idol of human sacrifice, in Eastern Dark (Sundays 1983,1990, Dailies 1977,Sundays 1983,1990).
Oops, sorry, I forgot that. But somehow, at least in Norway and probably Sweden too, it is the 13th Phantom who is considered as "the runt", and the 14th Phantom married Jeanette Lafitte. Don't ask me why, though.
I think I remember us having this discussion over at he Phantom Phorum a few years ago Walker...
If you could pick a Phantom (not the 1st or 21st) to read about in the pages of Moonstone Books, which one would it be and why? If you really want to see it, sell me on it.
I think Mike raised a question well worth answering here! But honestly, I also think he will want his own take on any Phantom!
Therefor I suggest a Phantom we have not got that much info about, some of the few mentioned by Germ and other Falk has been telling about, some a lot and some less!
The founding of the Jungle Patrol is a good and very popular story, I don't think it would be very smart for Mike to write that one again, or to much about the same Phantom!
Pick a unknown one!
Perhaps looking to Egmont for some clue for what they have done would be smart, there are a lot of fans even in USA who read their stories, it is no need for any more confused fans around the world than ther already are!

Lumbanga you make a very good point about not rehashing Falk stories..
