A while back I was able to get my hands on the Kolchak TPB Vol. 1 from my public library and took it home very excited. I had never read a Kolchak story before and before Moonstone published all these Kolchak stories I had never actually heard of him. So I took it home preparing my self for the brilliant stories I was going to find inside. At the end of reading it I didn't think it was brilliant but the opposite. To be honest I just thought it was boring. The scripts didn't realy go anywhere and the bright art work made it look like the complete opposite of horror. So that was a few months ago. Yesterday I was at my LCS and at the Moonstone rack I saw a copy of "Kolchak: Tales of the Night Stalker #5, Proximity Part 1 of 2" I was tempted to walk away and not buy it after my bad experience with the TPB. I ended up buying it for one reason... the cover. I love stories with Mummies in them so I thought "Ok I'll give it a try" and bought it. The rest is history. This was one of the best comic books I have ever read. The art wrok by KIRK JARVINSEN was terrifec and the colouring made it look like a true horror story. There was a bit of comedy that made me laugh and the script was tight. I will definetly be picking up #6 and the rest of the Ongoing series as soon as I have cash. So congratulation guys you've just turned me into a Kolchak fan, I might even give the GN's another shot!!!
Keep up the great work!!

A thousand thanks for the kind words, sir!
One of the things I tried to keep in mind when starting the "Kolchak Tales" book, is that I wanted it to have a different flavor from the Kolchak one-shot graphic novels. You've just proved why diversity is a good idea! Now, there's plenty of folks out there who love the GN's just fine and want to shish kabob me for what I'm doing with "Tales." But damn them to hell... THIS book's for you, man!
I just realised I had an extra $10 in my wallet and with out even thinking I raced down to the comic shop and picked up "Tales #6 and #7"
#6 was just as good as #5 and once again the art work blew me away. I especially loved the way the Mummy was shown. A VAMPIRE MUMMY that feeds off peoples dreams? What a great idea!! The humour was good once again and I loved the ending!! Also the cover was fantastic [A]
#7 was good but it was a bit confusing as I haven't read #1 yet. The look of the plpnat eater was creepy and Kolchak getting fired at the end was a good way to finish.
Are there more "TALES" stories in the works?
redaing "Tales" for the first time has suddenly made me realize just how many cool stories Moonstone has produced and I havent' gotten around to buying. The only Moonstone titles I have are: KHAN, VENGEANCE OF THE MUMMY, WYATT EARP, CISCO KID, THE PHANTOM [guy kicks ass!!]] and now KOLCHAK and I would love to expand and now have a "Moonstone Wish List"

Oh shucks MoonstoneDave your making me blush. If anyone hasn't picked up any "TALES" stories yet you haven't lived!!
Keep making stories like this and I will keep reading!

Glad to keep you entertained, my friend!
Yes, there are indeed more tales in the works. The next 48-page Kolchak Tales special, which should be arriving in October, I believe, contains three short stories, and picks up where Kolchak Tales #7 left off. Okay, so Kolchak's been fired... now what? Well, you'll find out there. It answers that question, and sets up the stage for Tales #8. Yes, more issues of the series, too. I promised a hiatus in the editorial column of #7, but where a lot of people use that as a conveninet exit point... not I! Always intended to come back, and by golly, I am. Sitting down to outline the next couple of issues even as we speak.
Sorry ya felt a little lost without issue #3... it's sold out, but will be reprinted early next year in a trade paperback, so you'll have another shot.
Meanwhile, thanks for your support as always, and I hope ya make that wish list of yours happen!

Well by the end of this year I hope to have at least half a dozen more Moonstone series. Can't wait to see Kolchak fit into his new job, as a Ghost hunter! At least I'm 99% sure thats what his new job his! If it is I can't wait! If it isn't I still can't wait!!
After reading #7 for the 3rd or 4th time I finally understand what was going on!! If I can't get my greedy little hands on a copy of #1 of Ebay I'll guess I'll have to be patient and wait for the TPB. Oh and by the way, I actually read your "Welcome to my World" column LOL

Wow... someone READS my column? Ah, see? I told Joe it wasn't a waste of space! Now if I would only say something important! You're okay, my friend. Thanks!

Yeah I read it. It's crazy, and in my books crazy is good;p
Eight planets, you say? Well, don't get comfortable. Soon, there will be only SEVEN! Mwah hah hah hah hahahahahaha... *urmmm* But then, I've said too much...
Sorry to butt in, but I gotta ask......what is a "TPB"?
I'm sure it's something everyone else here knows but I'm a lowly & ignorant noob, please take pity & enlighten me.
TIA,
Janos
